Circularo is bolstering the UAE’s growing cybersecurity talent by serving as a Gold Sponsor for the 2026 School of Cyber Defence competition. Organized by TechFirm Technology LLC under the auspices of the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), this initiative is designed to immerse university students in real-world cybersecurity scenarios that mirror practical security operations. The competition will culminate in a final event on September 18, 2026, at GISEC Global in Dubai, where five finalist teams will present and defend their solutions before a panel of cybersecurity experts.
The competition process begins with an online qualification round, inviting students to form teams of up to five members, with no prior experience necessary. Those who advance will tackle a case study that challenges them to evaluate a security scenario and devise a suitable response. After an expert review, the top five teams will receive mentoring as they prepare for the final showdown. Key areas of focus for the 2026 program include network protection, threat management, system security, and incident response, with a special emphasis on artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Circularo’s involvement aims to provide students with hands-on experience that complements their academic learning. Beyond financial sponsorship, the company intends to inject industry insights through classroom engagement and direct interaction with participants. This effort is part of a broader initiative that follows the inaugural School of Cyber Defence competition at GISEC Global 2025, which saw over 300 applications from UAE universities and engaged 130 students in the qualification rounds.
Participants must register by September 3, 2026, with the online qualification set to be completed by September 6. The case study and jury assessment will occur between September 7 and 11, followed by the announcement of finalists and the start of mentoring on September 14. The final competition will take place in the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai, with a prize pool exceeding AED 20,000 up for grabs for the winning teams.
