The Turkish Parliament is set to commence its weekly session on Tuesday, focusing on significant legislative discussions and presentations. A key item on the agenda is a new bill concerning the operations of the Turkish Red Crescent. This legislation aims to officially designate the Turkish Red Crescent, along with international and foreign Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations, as recognized entities for managing cash and in-kind assistance directed to Türkiye during both ordinary and emergency situations.

The proposed bill also seeks to provide compensation for Turkish Red Crescent personnel who are deployed in disaster zones, conflict areas, and other extraordinary circumstances. Additionally, leaders of provincial and district Red Crescent branches would be integrated into the boards of trustees for local Foundations for Social Assistance and Solidarity, potentially enhancing coordination in social support efforts.

In parallel with the legislative session, Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan is scheduled to present before the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Committee. His presentation is expected to address key topics such as global economic trends, the current state of Türkiye’s economy, the ongoing challenge of inflation, and the framework of the country’s monetary policy.

Moreover, the Parliamentary Public Works, Reconstruction, Transport and Tourism Commission will also meet to deliberate on legislation related to foreign digital accommodation platforms, indicating a busy session with multiple critical issues on the table.
