Türkiye has issued a strong condemnation of recent Israeli military actions in southern Syria, asserting that these strikes infringe upon Syria’s sovereignty and pose a threat to stability across the region. The Turkish Foreign Ministry highlighted that the attacks, which targeted areas in Quneitra and Daraa, breach Syria’s territorial integrity and international law, as well as the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.
Expressing concern over the potential humanitarian impact, Türkiye warned that the strikes could exacerbate the already dire conditions faced by civilians and hinder efforts aimed at restoring stability within Syria. Turkish officials urged the international community to step in and take measures to prevent further incidents that might escalate regional tensions.
The criticism was echoed by Türkiye’s Communications Director, Burhanettin Duran, who argued that the strikes threaten Syria’s security and undermine the progress toward achieving long-term peace in the area. Türkiye’s stance highlights its commitment to supporting Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity as fundamental components for ensuring regional security.
Amid the ongoing conflict, Türkiye called for collective international action to address and halt such attacks, emphasizing the need for a collaborative approach to mitigate further risks. The Turkish government remains steadfast in its position that preserving Syria’s sovereignty is crucial to maintaining peace and stability in the broader region.
