Türkiye will host the 5th Istanbul International Water Forum on May 5–6, 2026, under the theme “Enhancing Water Resilience: From Innovation to Action.” The event, led by the Agriculture and Forestry Ministry in collaboration with the Turkish Water Institute (SUEN) and the State Hydraulic Works (DSI), aims to strengthen international cooperation on sustainable water management.

Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumaklı said the forum will unite experts, policymakers, and scientists from around the world to develop innovative approaches to water governance. He emphasized the growing impact of climate change—such as droughts, floods, and wildfires—on global water systems and highlighted the urgent need for collaborative, science-based solutions.

Yumaklı underscored Türkiye’s leadership in environmental diplomacy, noting that the country is committed to advancing dialogue and implementing strategies that safeguard water resources. He said the forum will serve as a platform to exchange knowledge, foster innovation, and reinforce partnerships at both regional and global levels.

The Istanbul International Water Forum, first established to showcase Türkiye’s water management initiatives, has become a global hub for dialogue and cooperation in tackling water challenges. Türkiye has invited international stakeholders to join the 2026 event, which aims to generate scientific and practical contributions to global water resilience.
